Many collectors see the ‘Lemania’ Heuers as a must-have in a collection. It’s easy to see why.
Made for the Italian Air Force, or ‘Aeronautica Militare Italiana’, they come from around 1982-5. It’s part of Heuer ‘1000 Series’ of Lemania 5100 calibre models, all with a similar design. The dial features the AMI initials & wings, and the 3H symbol often seen on military watches.
Everything is original. The case and bracelet (which is an age correct Heuer variant) show signs of wear commensurate with a 35-year-old watch but do not detract from its wearability. All the functions work well, the pushers having a good firm ‘click’ when used or resetting the hands.
The dial is very clean as are the hands (the minute hand has lost a small piece of lume). As can be seen in the photos, the movement is also in very good condition, with its signed Lemania rotor.
It comes with its original box and card outer also.
These Italian Military watches do not come up for sale very often; this is a very good looking example.
