Project Description

Rolex Datejust 1601-01 £SOLD

Rolex’s most enduring, popular watch perhaps? Agree or not, the Datejust never goes out of fashion. And this mid-1960’s example shows why. Powered by calibre 1570 self-winding movement with sweep seconds and date, it also includes the period rolled link Jubilee bracelet with deployment clasp.

This example is rare given that the dial and hands were produced without any tritium lume even though the dial retains its T SWISS T signature. There is some very light spotting to the champagne, pie pan dial that does not detract from the overall look and feel of the watch. The crystal is in excellent condition including the cyclops over the 3 o’clock date aperture.

The bracelet is extremely comfortable, whilst showing some stretch given its age of about 50 years old.

The case is in great condition with the exception of some light scratches. As expected, the case has been lightly polished. The white-gold bezel still has a beautiful sheen.
