Breitling Superocean – Ref: 2005

£12250

This is a very good example of the extremely rare Breitling Superocean – Ref: 2005 dive watch. Produced in the 1960s with its unique elapsed minutes “Slow” chronograph function. Using a window aperture above 6 o’clock, one can see if the chronograph has been engaged, is running or is stopped. A simple, but extremely elegant design.

The large case on our Superocean remains in good condition and has well-preserved lugs. The lume shows some blemishes, the dial has taken on a catching matte black and the internal minute ring has faded to a creamy green.

It sports the correct bezel which is in great condition. The watch has recently had a full service so keeps very good time, the chronograph works perfectly, with the indicator switching crisply between its 3 states.

The watch comes with a brand new mustard yellow soft suede strap from The Strap Tailor and perfectly complements this famous watch.

Finally, this watch has a particularly interesting back-story which we will love telling the new owner!
