Kelton 25m Divers

Kelton 25m Divers Watch. We cannot deny it, we love this vintage watch!

There are many levels of watch collecting. From the high end, for example, how about the $11M paid recently for a Stainless Steel Patek Philippe Chronograph? Or a particular brand, or even particular watches – how about the nuances of the Rolex Daytona market? And this fascination with vintage watches and pre-owned timepieces doesn’t stop there.

More and more collectors are realizing the watches they covet are fragile things and can’t be worn day in and day out. They command respect and they deserve all the love that they get.

So what do you do, from day to day, to stand out from the Casio crowd? Wear an individual’s watch, something that marks you out as someone with style. What’s needed is a “Daily Beater”. Something not too expensive, that can withstand the majority of what daily life will throw at it, but has that certain “something”.

And a Daily Beater is how I would describe this Kelton 25m Divers Watch. Not expensive, but still very interesting, and something that can be worn as an everyday watch; without having to worry whether it gets bashed.

We just love how the Blue “Vertical Brushed” dial is complimented so well by the Blue Bakelite bezel and Navy Blue Suede “Horween” style strap. It’s the perfect combination, which wears on the wrist with supreme comfort.

Very little is known about Kelton the brand, but we have managed to glean the following; Kelton was a sub-brand of Ingersoll, which itself, was eventually swallowed up by the TIMEX Empire. Their watches were the Swatch watch of their day.

Yes, it’s got dents and dings. No it’s not a sophisticated watch movement inside, but that’s missing the point. The point is, it’s different and almost certainly unique, just like its new owner will be!
