This interesting piece comes from the early 1990s and is a very good example of the popular Yacht Timer watch (Reference 3004). It uses the Lemania 1345 flyback automatic calibre. This was a reissue from earlier models and used a titanium case with better protection of the crown and pusher.
Our watch is in excellent condition, as can be seen in the photos. It runs well, having been recently serviced and most importantly the 10-minute ‘Countdown’ timer windows which change colour are all working smoothly. The case measures 42,5 mm excluding the crown and has a 20 mm lug width. It comes with a brand new suede strap. This model has a rotating bezel and the tactical P.E. (Paul Elvström) system printed on the dial.
Paul Elvström, was a well known Danish sailor, showed how the watch could be used for tactical decision-making in conjunction with a compass. Later on, this feature was used by many other brands as well.
The dial and hands are both pretty clean and crisp, as is the case. The crystal has some very small minor scratches which can only be seen if you catch them in the light. All in all, this is a fun, cool sailing watch from the early 1990s.
